Abstract (EN)
From a general point of view, the imminent scarcity of fossil fuels, the need to fight against global warming, environmental consciousness and lastly importance of sustainable development of energy policy have put renewable energies at the centre of a strategic struggle for the world's future. The objective of this thesis is to find solutions for cheaper electricity and to recommend solutions to support the sustainable development of renewable energies in Djibouti. These solutions and recommendations are subjective and not quantitative. The country's existing electricity position is strongly deficit. 97% of the population's energy needs (mostly urban with more than 85%) are fulfilled by imports of petroleum products and 90% of Djiboutian households use kerosene as household fuel. The electricity coverage rate is very small, in the range of 30% (Fouad Aye, 2009). And yet, the country has a large potential in renewable energies. In order to ensure sustainable development, a stable energy supply at a reasonable cost is necessary. For Djibouti, the implementation of a long-term energy strategy is important. This will encourage energy conservation in Djibouti and the production of renewable, efficient and economical power systems. But can the access of renewable energy solve the electricity problems of the country? And how a better electricity can contribute to the sustaible development of the country? Those are the main questions to be answered on the energy field. In this thesis the Swot analysis is the tool used to carry out the research. Keywords: integration, renewable energy, energy planning, national energy balance Energy
