The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the violence healthcare workers suffered at their workplaces and its characteristics. The study, parallel to the results obtained, is important based on the measures to be taken against the violence. The study was carried out at Eskisehir Osmangazi University Medical Faculty Hospital between July 2014 and August 2014. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of 44 statements answered by health care workers employed in different occupational groups. Statistically significant differences were found between exposing violence throughout their working career, their ages and their units and professions, exposing verbal violence, their genders, and exposing physical and psychological violence and their professions. There is also statistically significant difference between their ages and their thinking of quitting their jobs. Health care workers are faced with aggressive behavior in the workplace or witness to violence. It is believed that by securing the heath care work environment and training health care workers, health care services will become much more efficient.
