Abstract (EN)

Savory which is a kind of thyme is an annual plant that is widely produced in our country and exports at a high level. This thesis study was carried out in order to produce a large number of seedlings through the laboratory environment of the Satureja hortensis plant in vitro and to determine the composition of the essential oil components in the plants grown as pot experiment in the outdoor environment. The study was caaried out in the laboratories and the greenhouses Department of Field Crops of the of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Dicle in 2016. The seeds of the savory plant were germinated in the MS nutrient medium and the explants were taken. Hypocotyl and cotyledon explants were placed in MS + 0.2 mg/L IBA media containing different concentrations of BAP and KIN. Callus formation was observed in all of the explants. The highest shoot formation was observed in cotyledon explants at 100% to 1.5 mg/L KIN medium. The highest rooting rate was observed in cotyledon explants at 100% to 0.75 mg/L KIN medium and at hypocotyl at 100% to 0.75 mg/L BAP and 2.25 mg/L BAP. Observations from single plants in the green house environment of Satureja hortensis L. the plant of height 31.00-48.00 cm, number of branches 7-26, fresh herb yield 21.12-77.15 g/plant, dry herb yield 6.85-25.66 g/plant and dry leaf yield 4.17-16.33 g/plant were found. Also, 21 components during the flowering period were found in obtained volatile oil and the main components were determined as carvacrol, γ–terpinene, p-cymene, Delta-2-carene, Acetylhymol and Myrcene.
