The selection of the genotypes arbutus unedo growing around Karasu, Sakarya

This research has been carried out between the years 2015-2016,province of Sakarya Karasu Kuzuluk and Kızılcık.Highly qualifed(superior) Arbutus Unedo has been treid to select from the ones that have gown naturally and this research has been carried out with these highly ones.This Arbutus Unedo genotypes have been evaluated by using the Weight Ranked method. In the first year (2015)of this research 70 genotypes of Arbutus Unedo have been defined and only 5 fruit genetypes have been identified because of the nonprodectiveness of the first year.In the second year of the research (2016) the number of the genotypes has raised up to 50 with the phenolojical observation,pomological analysis and weight ranked evaluation method. During the research years including both 2015 and 2016 approximately 20 fruit samples have been picked and the research has been carried out with 10 genotypes that have the importance of top priority of each species.At the end of the research,it is measured that the weight of the fruit is from 1,70 g to 9,03 g, the width is from 11,42 mm to 30,92 mm, the height of the fruit is from 10,15 to 25,24 mm,the pattern index of the fruit is from 0,75 to 1,33, the length is from 4,35 mm to 14,09 mm, the thickness of the stem is from 1,13 mm to 3,29 mm, the number f the fruit in a bunch is from 3 to 8, the amount of resoluble dry substance is from 15 % to 32 %, pH is from 3,02 to 3,66, with all these features 54 KR 08, 54 KR 11, 54 KR 16, 54 KR 44, 54 KR 49 species are superior (dominant) to others.
