The investigation of the level of adiponutrin in the serum and saliva on end stage kidney disease patients

In this study, we aimed that to evaluate the level of serum and saliva adiponutrin which is a calcium independent phospholipase A2-epsilon enzyme or similar about enzymatic activity to lipase and an acylglycerol O-acyltransferase enzyme its gene coded by patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 3( PNPLA3) on the patient who has chronic kidney failure (CKF) admitted to routine hemodialysis. Routine hemodialysis program admitted 55 end stage kidney disease patients and 30 healthy volunteer was evaluated for this study. Patients and healthy ones demographic characteristics like age, gender was recorded. After that blood and saliva samples were taken. Adiponutrin, aspartat aminotransferase(AST), alanin aminotransferase (ALT), urea, creatinine, amylase, lipase, insulin and HOMA-IR levels was studied from samples. The distribution of gender on patiens and control group were similar. The mean of age in hemodialysis group was 52,22±11,2 year, 42,4 ± 5,0 year in control group. Serum urea, creatinine, AST, amylase, lipase, insulin and HOMA-IR levels on the patient who had end stage kidney disease was admitted to hemodialysis was statistically higher according to the control group (p<0,05). Althought serum ALT levels was higher on the patient who had end stage kidney disease was admitted to hemodialysis, according to the control group. But this elevation was not meaningful by statistically (p>0,05). Serum and saliva adiponutrin levels were evaluated with ELISA metod on end stage kidney and control group. Patiens who undergo hemodialysis treatment serum adiponutrin levels was higher according to the control group and this rise was statistically meaningful (p<0,05). Saliva adiponutrin levels was higher on the patient who had end stage kidney disease was admitted to hemodialysis according to control. This is not statistically meaningful (p>0,05). As a result, adiponutrin levels were found higher in patients with end stage renal disease treated with hemodialysis than in normal control group. There is a need for new studies on the relationship between increased adiponutrin levels in patients with end-stage renal disease and increased cardiovascular risk in these patients.
