Özet (EN)
Throughout the human history, class challenges have always existed. In society, existence of some advantageous groups has brought social inequalities; it is noticed in such societies that prestige, power and wealth have not fairly been distributed. In this study where natures of class societies in the caste and capitalist systems were overviewed and analyzed, it is comprehended that whereas interclass transition is impossible for some societies, these transitions are possible but long-termed in some other societies. It is apparent that interclass transition, which requires long time and great efforts and is a milestone for each individual, is achieved within quite shorter period of time and as easily as possible through Facebook in the social media. Facebook has been a great opportunity for the individuals, not being content of the social stratum of their own, and thus intending to pretend as if they belong to higher classes. Real identities, subjected to disinformation through Facebook, appear as virtual identities in this platform. Thus, the people are able to share their attitude or styles, they are shy of or abstain from in real life, in an easy and fast manner in Facebook. Gains are based on the skills of the user in Facebook which claims that it distributes equal opportunities to its users for climbing social ladder. The users, who are able to turn their idealized identities into opportunities by means of sending messages and sharing location and photographs in the right place at the right time, may have virtual prestige no matter how "false" they are. As a result of a study carried out on a sample group of 18-29 ages, it is derived that Pseudo-Class formed in Facebook and mechanism of climbing social ladder are possible with Facebook applications.
