Abstract (EN)

The recently discovered novel coronavirus, "severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)," caused coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The virus was first detected in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and spread rapidly throughout the world before being declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. In the study, we estimate the serum Fetuin-A levels and serum Interleukin-10 in patients with COVID-19. This study included a total of (100) patients with COVID-19 infection. The patients' ages ranged from 30 to 70. Between January and March 2022, these patients were admitted to Al-Shefa hospital in Kirkuk, Iraq. In addition, 50 healthy people were included as a control group in this investigation. The current results showed that IL-10 (1082 A/G) in the patient group was very statistically significant at (p-value ≤0.01) in comparison with control groups. Fetuin-A in the patient group was statistically very important at (p-value ≤0.01) in comparison with control groups. The relationship between the genotype of the IL-10 gene and Fetuin-A in the patient group was much more measurably binding than in the control groups (p-value 0.01).
