Abstract (EN)
In this thesis; it was aimed to examine Ca soap production from sunflower oil and characteristics of preserved sunflower oil. For this purpose, sunflower oil was converted to preserved oil or calcium soap using quicklime or Ca (OH)2 (98%). A number of analyzes were performed on the oil and the produced preserved oil. In this study, 3 domestic cattle with rumen cannula were used in the examination of digestibility for 24 hours. In addition, they were giving to dairy cattle in a private cattle farm to examine the effects on milk content. Preserved oil was produced by using quicklime or Ca (OH)2 (98%). Since the glycerol, which was produced as a by-product, could not be removed completely, the product did not dry completely. The pH level of the product was about 12.0. In our in situ experiment, it was found that around 90% of the preserved oil was not lost in the rumen. It was observed that there was no change in the milk contents of dairy cattle because of the giving product. This is thought to be due to usage of the low level of preserved oil. As a result; Preserved oil was obtained by treatment of sunflower oil with CaOH. The digestion of product in rumen was found to be low. In the laboratory studies, it was observed that Ca and oil particles of the product were separated when sunflower oil Ca soap was treated in HCl solution which has pH 2. It was observed that the usage of the product in dairy cows had a positive effect on milk fat. It has been found that further studies are needed to standardize the procedure for the production of preserved oil.
