Özet (EN)

Baffled aprons or chutes have been in use on irrigation projects for many years. The fact that many of these structures have been built and have performed satisfactorily indicates that they are practical and that in many cases they are an economical answer to the problem of dissipating energy. Baffled chutes are used to dissipate the energy in the flow at a drop and are most often used on canal waste ways or drops. The aim of this study is to investigate energy dissipation ratio of baffle blocks placed the chute channels. The experiments were conducted with for baffle block types. These baffle blocks are respectively stepped, trapezoidal, T-shaped and wedge type. Surface length of baffle blocks was taken as the same and the baffle blocks were placed according to non he same row in the chute channel. Energy dissipation ratios of baffle blocks having different geometrical shapes were obtained as near each other. It can be seeing that stepped baffle block type have slightly higher values of energy dissipation than the other baffle blocks tested in the study. But, when the energy dissipation ratio of the non baffle chute and baffle chute compare to each other, it is shown that the energy dissipation ratio of baffle chute is higher than the non baffle chute.
