Abstract (EN)
192 people were included in our study, in which we investigated the knowledge level and attitudes of resident doctors of Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Hospital about telemedicine and aimed to raise awareness about telemedicine at the same time. This investigation, an observational type cross-sectional study, was carried out between June 1, 2022 and October 1, 2022 using face-to-face and online surveys with the permission of the resident physicians. The questionnaire's first six questions were designed to describe the sociodemographic details of the participants, and the remaining 30 questions were intended to elicit their perspectives on telemedicine procedures. When the sociodemographic details of the participants are looked at, it can be noted that they are, on average, 29.9 years old, 67.7% work in internal sciences, 25% work in surgical sciences, and 7.3% work in fundamental sciences. In our survey, it was found that 77.6% of participants believed that telemedicine would be advantageous for the future health system, 74% said that the pandemic process had an impact on their perception of telemedicine, and 64.1% believed that telemedicine could be applied in their field. It was statistically significant (p <0.05) that people who believed telemedicine could be used in the fields of radiology, pathology, dermatology, psychiatry, pediatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, neurology, and cardiology expressed more favorable opinions about how telemedicine would affect the future health system. According to the outcomes of our study and in-depth literature research, telemedicine has a lot of advantages and is currently actively and widely used in many countries. It also, telemedicine can be used in many fields, makes access to healthcare services easier, and enables more patients to be reached in case of emergency.
