Abstract (EN)
The study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship of palmar skin resistance to hand skill and fine motor gripping forces in musicians. Between the ages of 18-45, a total of 72 participants including 33 women and 39 men were included. Participants' palmar skin resistance was measured with multimeter, Fine motor grip strength was measured with pinch meter. A 9-hole peg test was applied for manual skill measurement. Palmar skin resistance was compared between hand strengths and fine motor grip strengths of low and high persons. There was a significant difference between the hand skills of the groups with low and high palmar skin resistance on the dominant and non dominant side (p <0,05). It was observed that those with low palmar skin resistance had a better handcraft. There was no significant difference between the fine motor gripping forces (p> 0,05). It was determined that there was a relationship between hand skill and palmar skin resistance. On the dominant side, palmar skin resistance was related to the lateral grip, but not to the pinch grip and thripod grip. The relation of between handcraft and fine motor grip forces was significant with lateral grip in the dominant side. As a result, it was determined that palmar skin resistance should be taken as an electrophysiological measurement method, which is a criterion affecting performance in musicians, determining risk factors for occupational disorders, providing objective data, which can contribute to creation of treatment plan.
