The opinions of teachers and students' about implementation of the instrument training and qanun lesson's curriculum at fine arts high schools in Turkey

This research aims to examine teacher and student views on qanun instrument teaching Curriculum implemented at Fine Arts High Schools in Turkey and contribute the development of curriculum. Descriptive research method was used to determine the current situation. Source scanning and survey methods were used as data gathering of this study. Books, scientific articles, theses and internet were examined as data collection tool. Art, art education, qanun, qanun teaching, Fine Arts High Schools and curriculum were evaluated. Most of data was obtained through questionnaires. Students of 99 and instructors of 19 out of 21 Fine Arts High School providing qanun instrument teaching were given questionnaires in this research. Results were shown on charts and interpreted with basic statistical techniques and according to findings a number of suggestions for the problems have been made. In this research main qualities of teachers and students of qanun, the views of student and teachers at qanun about the implementation of instrument teaching curriculum, the books and methods used in the lesson, Assessment and evaluation techniques, the problems in qanun teaching and suggestions contributing to improvement of qanun teaching have been put forward in this study, which is the first on qanun teaching at Fine Arts High Schools in Turkey.
