Financial relations between central and local governments in Turkey: The example of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality

This thesis aims to comprehensively examine the structure, functioning, and impacts of financial relations between the central government and local governments in Turkey. The primary objective of the research is to analyze the distribution of financial resources between the central and local governments, the use of these resources, and the effects of these processes on the financial autonomy of local governments. Additionally, the thesis seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of current practices in the financial relations between the central and local governments and provide recommendations for addressing the issues encountered in this area.
