Learning Turkish as a foreign language using digital games in Turkey and Sudan

The game is an important element of the education system and the foreign language learning process, and digital games that emerged with the development of digital equipment have also taken their place in this process, and it is known that the young generation shows great interest in digital games of various types played with hardware such as computers, tablets, phones and consoles. The game is called all the entertaining and instructive activities that people usually do in order to evaluate their spare time. The history of digital games, also called computer games, dates back to the 1960s (Başaran, 2017). However, the idea that digital games can be used as educational material started to come to the fore especially in the 1990s, when computer games started to become popular. The popularity of digital games, which has attracted the attention of the young generation since the first day, continues today and increases over time. With the rapid developments in computer and mobile technologies, games have become digital, and with the widespread use of computer- aided education tools, education activities have been positively affected. In education services, fun digital games are used to facilitate the learning of the course content and to attract the attention of the students. The field of language learning with digital games has made greatprogress especially in the last 20 years and has become one of the most studied sub-branches of computer-assisted language learning (Hung et al 2016).
