A research on variantization of Turkish folk songs

Folk songs, which are an important part of the translated cultural tradition, are shaped according to the culture and geographical characteristics of the region. This transfer process is very important for the preservation, renewal, development and dissemination of folk songs. While folk songs are being transmitted, a powerful folk song with a catchy melody and lyrics is played for various reasons such as traveling lovers, folk songs, local artists or war, migration, military service, wedding. they were Decoupled among themselves, sometimes in the same region, sometimes for miles. In another remote region, it appears as a new folk song with similar melodies and lyrics, similar melodies or different melodies and different lyrics. This new folk song is called a variant folk song, and the exact number of folk song variants is unknown. A total of 100 folk songs, 34 of which are the same melody and lyrics recorded in the TRT repertoire, 34 of which are the same lyric and different melodies, 32 of which are different lyrics and the same melody, have been identified in the research. let there be various songs. for each other. It is aimed to create a written source by revealing the similarities and differences of folk songs in terms of melody/ lyric structure. In this study, the document review model, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The research data were selected from the TRT repertoire by a purpose-oriented random method. In the research, 100 folk songs recorded in the TRT repertoire and thought to be derived from each other were examined in detail. The similarities and differences of the folk songs with each other were interpreted by comparing the table and note materials. Folk songs with similar melodies and lyrics in the same region, the same province or district, different melodies and similar lyrics in distant regions have formed folk song varieties.
