Abstract (EN)

The main focus of this study is to explore the effects of international and regional agreements on the illegal drug traffic in Turkey. Within this context, the global aspects of supply and stimulants are examined. The recent supply and demand data of these drugs are analyzed. After an evaluation of the precautions taken against addictive substances both at the international and national levels, Turkey's participation in these measures are assessed. The amounts of drugs and stimulants captured in Turkey have been examined within two consecutive periods; 2000-2006 and 2006-2012. It has been conculed that, especially in the 2006-2012 period, as a result of international and regional agreements, there as been a substantial increase in the number of captures of addictive substances in Turkey.
