Religiousness and purpose in life among university students

In the research, it was aimed to target the purpose of life and religiosity education in university students. In this context, correlation between personal development, financial income, physical appearance, social responsibility and individual awareness life purpose sub-dimensions and religiosity was examined. It is seen that there are rare studies on the relationship between life purpose and religiosity in the literature. In this respect, it is thought that this study will contribute. "Scale of Life Purposes" and "Religiosity Scale" developed by Aydiner and Gulmez was used as data collection tools in the study. The study group consists 317 students from Islamic Sciences, Law, Medicine, Engineering and Natural Sciences and Business Administration faculties of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Data obtained from study group was organised as statistical data set and analyzed with SPSS 25 Statistics Software. Significant relation was found between life purpose sub-dimensions and religiosity regarding to analysis results. According to this; negative correlation was detected between financial income and physical appearance sub-dimensions and religiosity; positive correlation was detected between personal development, social responsibility and individual awareness sub-dimensions and religiosity.
