The Books Temettü?ât of the township of Viranşehir

At Tanzimat term is the beginning of Ottoman State?s settlement period at westernization. In this term there are lots of, especially financial region and also political social cultural chancing are drawn the attention. In this term like other time there is correction and arrengment about aplied tax system. Some of taxes which are taken under various name and form are removed and then temettu tax which base on all people?s payment are started to application. This tax roll, include indicated tax is named temettü?ât books. Temettü?ât books, are important about turkish history. Because of including lots of impotant information such as names of the tax payers and their land estates and their other incomes, and also tax amount, the temettü?ât book is an evidence .My aim with this study is to produce rural?s which is under Viranşehir township in1844-1845 (H. 1260?1261) social and economical constitution. This study was prepared taking advantage of one of the most impotant of source is named temettü?ât books which include social and economical form of that term. Socioeconomic constitution of Viranşehir town has been searched belonging to 1844- 1845 (H.1260- 1261). And also in this study 37 district councils and 120 rurals have been searched and as a result population was recorded about 6350 people.It is stand out that villages of Viranşehir town?s economic constitution depend on agriculture and animal husbandry in the mid 19 th century. Lots of people make their living through agriculture and animal husbandry. Besides there are detailed information about plantation of township, fallowing lands, farm products, variety of animals and their numbers, amount of hives and also working of people .Furthermore it is subsisted information about villages? tax load belongs to Viranşehir town in temettü?ât books. Vergü-yi mahsûsa, a?şâr and adet-i ağnam are collected.
