XX.and XXI. periods Gaziantep parliamenterians and political activities (1996-1999-2002)

The aim of this purpose is to examine the legislative activities of Gaziantep deputies who were in the national assembly in the 20th and 21st parliaments (1996-1999-2002). Moreover, the conceptual framework of politics and political activities were also discussed. Within this scope, previous political systems were discussed and definition of democracy, democratic models, parliamentary system, constitutional branches in the parliamentary system, and the development of parliamentary system in Turkey are described. Afterward, the general status of Turkey in the periods of 1996-1999-2002 was addressed as it constitutes the limited period of this study. Likewise, Gaziantep's geographical, demographic, social, economic and political structure was also explained as it also constitutes the limited framework of this study. Furthermore, the results of general election in terms of Gaziantep were also explained and evaluated. Afterward, the biographies of the deputies included within the scope of the study are provided. Gaziantep deputies are evaluated in terms of their sociodemographic properties and that section of the study is completed. In the following section, the speeches of Gaziantep deputies in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey are included. Lastly, legislative activities of Gaziantep deputies were interpreted and explained. In the study, minute journals of the Grand National Assembly were used
