Satisfaction levels of inpatients and their relatives with nursing care

This study was conducted in a descriptive cross-sectional fashion to determine the satisfaction levels of inpatients and their relatives about nursing care. The sample of the study consisted of 300 patients and 300 patient relatives who were included in the study and were in the clinics determined between February 1 and April 1, 2022 in a university hospital. Patient Data Collection Form, Patient Relatives Data Collection Form and Newcastle Nursing Satisfaction Scale (NHBME) prepared for the social and demographic characteristics of patients and their relatives were used as data collection tools. Data were analyzed using T-test, Analysis of Variance in SPSS 22.0 Program. As a result of the research; patients scored 82.11±17.53 on the Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale, and their relatives scored 85.60±15.97 points. According to the NHBÖ scores, it was determined that both the patients and their relatives were satisfied at a good level. The difference in scores between the patients and their relatives was found to be statistically significant, and the mean score of the patient's relatives was found to be higher than that of the patients. It is recommended to measure, evaluate and maintain the satisfaction level of patients and their relatives with regard to nursing care, which has an important place for health service quality.
