A mathematical method proposal on the classification of contemporary equipment in repurposed industri̇alheri̇tage structures and sustainable glass selection on facades: The case of Bomontiada

Industrial buildings bear traces of the period they were built; After the social, economic, cultural and technological events of the buildings, their original functions and functions began to lose their economic value. As a result of the rapid increase in the global population and the progress of urbanization, it has been observed that the historical industrial buildings in the city center are in a neglected and unused condition. These structures turn into a void with rapid urbanization. This transformation is also seen as an industrial heritage. Today, as a result of the evaluation of the concept of re- functioning, it is necessary to ensure the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage in order to carry it to future periods. Thus, the historical sides of the buildings will be preserved and they will be able to survive with their new functions together with new additions. Within the scope of the thesis, modern equipment used in industrial heritage buildings has been examined in detail in every aspect and has been tabulated by classification. Secondly, in order to create a decision support system in the selection of sustainable glass to be used in Bomontiada, considering the user needs and environmental conditions, sustainable architectural elements have been targeted and evaluation criteria have emerged accordingly. 4 main criteria; environmental, social, economic and mixed. As a result of the survey conducted with 10 experts, the importance levels of these criteria were determined between 1 and 5 points, and it was aimed to choose the most suitable and efficient glass type for Bomontiada with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). As a result of this study, which enabled Bomontiada to serve as a decision-making guide in the field of application and selection decisions, among the sustainable glass selections to be used on its façade. For Bomontiada, the importance levels of the criteria were analyzed analytically within the scope of sustainability.
