One of 18th century Arabic poets, al-Amîr as-San'ani and his diwan

In this study, al-Amir eṣ-Ṣan'ânî, one of the Arab poets and scholars of the 12/18th century, and his Dîvân, were examined. The study consists of an introduction and three parts. In the introduction, general information about the studies on al-Amir eṣ-Ṣan'ânî and his works and the political, scientific and social situation of Yemen in the 12/18th century are given. In the first part, evaluations were made about eṣ-Ṣan'ânî's life, family, scientific and literary personality, teachers, students and works. In the second part, the poems sung by eṣ-Ṣan'ânî were examined in terms of content. In this framework, the poet's poems have been arranged according to their subjects and these subjects have been analyzed in the context of the criteria that literary critics have determined in their works. In the third part, the poems were examined in terms of style and form. The structure of the eulogy has been examined in terms of verse forms, meter and rhyme structure, and the sciences of me'âni, beyân and bedî'.
