Abstract (EN)
The Armenians who used to lead a free and happy life for ages in the Ottoman State without having complaints about anything. Evangelists who came from various countries used Armenian citizens, missionary schools, churches, etc. hence they started animosity against the state.First of all, youngsters, who went to various European countries with the aim of education in 18 and 19th centuries, started having a stronger feeling of animosity against the Ottoman State due to partial and nationalist kind of education. After organizing in various forms, they began to go into the lands of the Ottoman State. They came to these lands with just one aim in mind; to wear, weaken and eventually destroy the Ottoman State with the help of the big and strong countries and found the Great Armenia which was in their dreams for a long time. The educated young people tried to attract the Armenian people in the region to their side first of all. They threatened those with death who came against. They revolted with the people they gathered on their part from time to time. Most of the time they attempted to revolt was the time when the Ottoman State was in difficult situations.Whenever there was an Armenian rebellion, England, France and The United States of America intervened and pretended as if they were the salvations. The Ottoman Authorities saw all these and they tried to prevent it, yet they were not quite successful in doing that. Although the measures taken by the Ottoman State were congruous, they failed most of the time.In the First World War, The Armenians revolted in every region they resided so that they made The Ottoman State go off the deep end. For their defence the Ottoman State put the ?Forced Emigration? law into practice. The reflection of this situation was bad from both The Ottoman State and The Armenians? point of viewAlthough the Armenians in Hatay region emigrated from these places, after England made a call for retreat in 1918, most of them went back to their own hometowns. They lived there until 1939 which means till Hatay was included into the mother land. After 1939, apart from one single Armenia village all other Armenians emigrated to various European countries. Keywords: Antakya, Armenian, Rebel, revolt, Moses Mountain, Samandağ (Süveydiye).
