Abstract (EN)
In this research, the art of painting in Turkey after 1980 and the transformation of painting art into a market in today's conditions and the actors affecting the art market with the process of adapting to global art are emphasized. How and to what extent these actors affected the Turkish art of painting, as a result of this influence, how museums, galleries, collectors, fairs, art institutions, biennials and auctions, as well as art patrons, steered Turkish painting art, and the state of institutionalization and organization of art were analyzed. With the 1980s, art institutions and foundations were opened in the Turkish painting market, the number of galleries increased, the number of collectors increased, and the number of sponsors supporting art began to increase. With the opening of private museums and the transformation of museums into living spaces, new business lines have emerged in the field of art. In addition to exhibiting permanent works, the museums also hosted temporary exhibitions and collection exhibitions, and renewed themselves with activities such as events, panels and workshops. Auctions, on the other hand, have been frequented by collectors who have status, and have determined the market of painting art from time to time. With the establishment of the curatorial system in Istanbul, more comprehensive, themed and selected exhibitions began to be opened. With the increase in the effectiveness of fairs and biennials together with curation, the written and visual media allotted more time to art, and the opening of fairs and biennials became the invitations for the elite. Istanbul Biennial, art fairs, auctions, art galleries, museums and art institutions, collectors, curators, art publications, art writers and critics, art associations and unions, foundations, sponsorships, organization companies, internet and artists, as actors of the art market, have an organizational structure. By transforming into a structure, it has made its roles visible and strengthened its effects.
