Abstract (EN)

The relationship between media and politics usually progresses in parallel with monopolization. Large capital groups have began to be effective in the media and have gathered the power of forming public opinion especially after different economic and political processes developed after 1980. In time, the relationship with power has turned into a relationship of interest. Media bosses and power owners acted together to change the content of the news for benefit both sides. In this sense, columnists, who were the backbone of the newspaper, could not maintain their neutrality within the framework of this relationship of interest. This study aims to reveal how the discourse of newspapers whose ownership structure changed after 1980. For this reason 50 columnists from five newspapers were analyzed within the framework of Teun A. Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis and the direction of discourse changes.
