Examination director-oriented transformation of Turkish theater in 20th

This thesis is written on the thesis of why an avant-garde theater theory could not be created in Turkey. The question of what a director is has been discussed and the duties of the director have been analyzed. The birth process of directing in the world, followed by information about the points where the theater has come after the avant-garde movements, and the thesis antithesis has been tried to be formed with the donations provided from the necessary sources. The first director Duke of Sax-Meiningen, Konstantin Stanislavki and Andre Antoine were researched. Their contributions to directing and theater art were examined. Finally, Vsevelod Meyerhold was investigated as an example of avant-garde directors. Meyerhold's understanding of acting and staging systems were investigated. Then, Tanzimat and Darülbedayi processes were analyzed, and the problems and solutions of Turkish writers related to this period were focused on. Then, a brief overview of the Turkish Theater is given, and information is given about the Ottoman and Republican periods, their understanding of art and the state of theater. Finally, under the title of directing in Turkey, directors Muhsin Ertuğrul and Haldun Dormen are analyzed and the problem of people's inability to create something new in these lands is discussed.
