The effects of the 2008 global crisis on enterprises: A research on the Aydın province

Economic crises are the unexpected occurrences that deeply affect general economy and the enterprises. Due to the expansion of globalism, crises have occurred more often and because of liberal economic policies, Turkey has lived many economic crises. During the 1990?s, Turkey faced several depressions in 1994, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2008. These depressions had grave effects on the economy and business enterprises.In 2007, the global crisis that had been started was arused in mortgage credit market in USA, spreaded all over the world and became a global crisis. Outcomes of that crisis has still been felt in Turkey since 2008.The purpose of the thesis is to analyze of the effects of the crises on Turkish economy and the enterprises in Turkey and Aydın province. In this study, the terms such as crisis and enterprise; importance of the enterprises in the economy; effects of economic depressions; depressions which Turkey faced after 1990, were defined and analyzed regarding to the 2008 global crisis.
