Patients diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), in the prediction of mortality risk, determining the need for intensive care follow-up and determining hospitalization, pneumonia severity scores such as CURB-65, CRB-65, CURB, SOAR, SMART-COP, PSI, A-DROP, cellular ions such as magnesium (Mg), CRP, neutrophil, lymphocyte, inflammation markers; such as NLR the ratio of neutrophil count to lymphocyte count, PLR the ratio of platelet count to lymphocyte count are used in our daily practice. While planning our study, we aimed at the need for follow-up in the intensive care unit (ICU), in order to determine the risk of 28-day mortality and hospital mortality in hospitalized CAP patients, the effects of parameters such as CURB-65, CRB-65, CURB, SOAR, SMART-COP, PSI, A-DROP, CRP, NLR, PLR, Mg in determining these needs and risks and the effect of the process of the treatment of our patients and also aimed to compare this with the literature.
