Abstract (EN)
With the proclamation of the Republic, Turkey entered a new era in terms of democracy. After the Second World War, with the changing conditions, a multi-party system was adopted and the 10-year Democratic Party government began in 1950. However, with the May 27, 1960 coup, the DP's power came to an end. Political activities, which were suspended on July 7, 1960, resumed on January 13, 1961, with the opening of the Constituent Assembly on January 6, 1961. On February 11, 1961, many new political parties, especially the Justice Party, were established. The Justice Party established its first organization in İzmir on February 27, 1961, and the party organized country tours to organize throughout the country. During this period, the CHP also organized domestic trips and the CHP held its 15th congress on August 24. As a matter of fact, general elections were held on October 15 and a new order was established after these elections. After the negotiations between the political parties, the first coalition government in the history of the Republic was established between the CHP and the AP. In this period, the issue of amnesty for DP deputies became the most important agenda of the AP. As a matter of fact, the issue of amnesty caused unrest in the parliament and the coalition was in danger of collapse. The first disagreement among the partners was the salaries of civil servants and deputies. While the Law on Measures and the return of 147 faculty members to universities were seen as the most important achievements of the coalition, the pardon of those who made the coup attempt on February 22 brought the coalition to an end, so the AP-CHP cooperation ended on June 1, 1962.
