Evaluation of Health Effect of Heavy Metal Exposure: A Case of Ceramic Industry In industry, ceramics and ceramic materials tableware and ornaments, construction industry, electrical, electronic, optical and magnetic applications, bioceramics as hip and knee implants, glasses production and production of dental veneering material are often used. The source of heavy metal exposure in seramic industry are raw material and glazing process.The aim of this research is revealed the correlation between lead, manganese, cadmium, cobalt, zinc and HCT, HGB, PDW, Parathormone, T3, T4, TSH parameters of 560 ceramic workers. According to the research, average serum copper is 96,743±15,8704 µg/dL; median urinary cadmiumis 0,02 (0,0-2,80) µg/dL; urinary manganeseis 0,60 (0,001-15,80) µg/dL; urinary cobaltis 0,60 (0,01-6,70) µg/dL; serum manganeseis 8,70 (0,40-42,0) µg/dL; serum cadmium is 0,60 (0,01-5,20) µg/dL; serum lead is 1,60 (0,08-19,10) µg/dL; serum zincis 94,50 (0,75-149,0) µg/dL. It was determined significantly weak negative correlation between serum copper level (r=-0,180), cadmium level (r=-0,184), zinc level (r=-0,133) and HCT parameters.
