Abstract (EN)

Since ancient times, spaces have been primarily thought of and designed for necessities such as shelter and protection. During later periods, different values were attached to these spaces and different forms were gained apart from their primitive forms. In this study, the concept of space is limited to the form of the house and its association with the concepts of space, belonging and identity; the logic behind this association is analysed both in its implementation and in script. Abstract values such as warmth, love, life, etc. have been affiliated with the house form, which is the smallest space we can call a space within a space, and invisible values have been tried to be made visible. Inspired by russian painter Kasimir Malewitsch's most common structure, which can be stated as the 'zero point', the sense of belonging was tried to be instilled through this destitute and most deprived point, and this way personal works were given an identity. Additionally, just as Christo and Jeanne-Claude packaged objects such as buildings, islands and trees, making the forms visible in a contradictory manner, in this study too, emotions were made visible by creating a form; space, elevated to a phenomenological and psychological dimension, has left a pure plastic value behind. Deconstructing the concept of home, it is necessary to evaluate the meaning (love, warmth, life, etc.) that we attribute to this form as sub-meanings. In such a case, where a concept or form has different sub-meanings and complements, we will see that everything is intertwined, constitutes each other, or is an accumulation of aggregates. These sub-meanings and complements differ within individuals. In case the forms are relative as well; the examples of how artists from different art movements in the history of art transformed the house form, which turned into a sculpture, into plastic, will be examined. The aim of thesis is to show the concepts of belonging and identity, in a healthy environment, in a healthy way and maket he sub-meanings visible as emotions. The future generations can live in peace and happiness only in this way.…
