Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the impact of peer abuse on the student perception of school environment is evaluated through measurement of primary school student?s tendencies towards repressive violence and components of school environment (teacher-student relations, administration, behavioral values of students, relations among students, parents, communication with school and society, security and order) This is a case study undertaken in the Esenyurt province of the city of Istanbul.?Literature search? and ?field study? methods have been used in this thesis and in the field study, CASE/ KOID detailed school environment evaluation scale, violence tendency scale and inquiry form were applied to studentsThe study has shown a meaningful negative relation between school environment component and violence tendency component. In school environment the teacher-student relations components varies depending on sex , age and class the administration components depending on sex and class, the behavioral values of students component depending on occupation of father and level of family income, communication with family, society and school component depending on class, security and order component depending on class and level of family income. In repressive violence, negative reflection component varies meaningfully depending on sex, empty deficiency component depending on sex, use of force component depending on sex and level of family income, tormenting others component depending on sex.
