Abstract (EN)
To define pile of words as sentence, and also, sentences as text certain features should be seen; since, words and sentences with no connection in between do not possess the qualification of a text. Prepositions, which are among crucial linguistic elements, form texts by establishing link within and between sentences. Prepositions are effective units of the language that avoids inaccurate or incomplete understanding of the language in both written and oral communication. As the number of prepositions in Arabic language is very high in order to define the boundaries and framework of the subject the prepositions in el-Mufassal fî Sanʻati'l-İʻrâb written by ez-Zemahşerî have been taken as the basis and the links of them with the text have been analyzed. The differences between the prepositions of same kind have also been analyzed. In introduction chapter of the study basic research issues have been covered such as scope, framework, aim, importance and methodology. In this chapter, also have given information regarding to prepositions sources. In the first chapter; the place of prepositions within word types, moreover, the discussions whether it is a type of word or not have been analyzed, then, issues like the definitions regarding prepositions, nomenclature and whether prepositions have meaning alone or not have been discussed in detail. In second chapter, in the first place, conceptual framework of types of relationships have been determined and followed by the analysis of prepositions of those modes of relationships. In this chapter the relations of referring, preference, restriction, commutative, comparison, reduplication, wish, exception, reduction, alteration, opposition, questioning, approval and rejection, conditions, incentives/condemnation and probability have been discussed. In the appendix, nature of prepositions has been handled over sample texts by the relationship type they provide within the text. In conclusion chapter, the discussions and findings have been summarized and general framework of the study has been presented. Within this study, the subject of prepositions have been analyzed according to formed relationships with the text by the help of, primarily, el-Mufassal of ez-Zemahşerî and other studies on syntax, detached preposition studies, declamation, Islamic law method, linguistics etc. The views of many linguistics over word/preposition have been given and different classifications and nomenclatures have been found. It has been concluded that in classification and nomenclature of the prepositions there are different views among the linguistics. Also, prepositions have been analyzed from meaning perspective, rather than structural, and the contribution of prepositions to the texts have been shown over many sample sentences.
