Biography of Salih Bozok, the Senior Aid Officer of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1881-1941)

His father,Mr Cafer from Thesaloniki, mother Mrs Hatice and wife Ms Nuriye. In persue of military middle school and collage, he followed Military Academy in İstanbul. He promoted luitenent after that. His first assignment was a check point at Bulgarian border. Mustafa Kemal was his friend from the same school and resident(neighbourhood) as well as being remote relatives.They were together during early years of their services. They met in Thesaloniki during the date of declaration of Liberty, 1908. Since the early years of their friendship M.Kemal said ' We will be together and never be aparted and you will be my aid officer. Before M.Kemal step up Anadolu, to start up National Movement, he was at Syrian Front and succeeded to assigne Bozok as his aid officer. After Bozok's retirement as Lt.Colonel he was with M.Kemal again. On April 1920,23 M.Kemal was selected the first Parliament Speaker , appointed Bozok as Senior Aid. Bozok was with him all along after that. M.Kemal marrried Latife Hanım and Bozok was his withness. Latife Hanım has used to name him ' my second father' In the second term of Turkish parliamentary election Bozok was selected as deputy of Yozgat province and therfore quitted his post 'senior aid'. During his civil service in parliament ' majlis' Bozok has adhered to stay with M.Kemal as if first aid all along his life ! Ataturk died on Nov 1938,10 and bozok said " Supreme commander never goes without his aid" and attempted suicide. He was rescued then. While running his mission as deputy in the parliament he passed away on April 1941,25 in İstanbul. He was burried at Cebeci Marterdom Cemetary in Ankara.
