Abstract (EN)

Radiation is used to describe the diffusion of matter and energy into space. Radiation damage to the tissue is due to the deterioration of the structure of the molecules due to the effects at the atomic level. Diagnostic devices are used to reduce the biological effects of the x-rays emitted by the devices used, without compromising image quality. The radiation doses associated with CT should be monitored and checked to ensure that radiation exposure is reduced and image quality optimized.Computerized tomography requires some software to reduce the amount of dose and increase resolution in diagnostic imaging. 'SAFIRE' (Sinogram Affirmed Iterative Reconstruction) is one of these software. It is a method that provides better image quality at a lower radiation dose by increasing the Signal/Noise ratio and available in different versions of different companies. This software relies on best imaging at low doses without worrying about resolution. Conventional imaging methods leave their place to 3-dimensional imaging methods thanks to the work done. Within the scope of this thesis, paranasal sinus tomography and Water's graphy dose measurements were performed. The amount of noise calculated on the sinus doses and the amount of noise calculated on the image and the sinus doses obtained as a result of the standard protocols used by the hospital were compared.
