Childhood traumas in childhood schizophrenia and bipolar disorder patients

One of four children is experiencing a traumatic experience before the age of 18. These traumatic experiences can be sexual, physical, emotional abuse or physical and emotional neglect. Child abuse and neglect is a phenomenon that is found everywhere in the world and it is understood that the frequency is very high as it goes on the subject. The relationship between abuse and neglect of psychiatric diseases is well known by clinicians. It is thought that bipolar disorder has a high rate of inheritance and that psychosocial stressors are effective for the first and subsequent attacks. The association of adult onset schizophrenia with childhood traumas such as hallucinations and delusions has been shown to have high rates of childhood trauma in these patient groups. While childhood traumas have been explored in adult appearance of these diseases, the presence of traumas in childhood-onset forms and the relationship of traumatism to disease have not been studied yet.To investigate the presence, frequency and severity of childhood trauma in early-onset schizophrenia and bipolar disorder patients. To investigate the relationship between the types and severity of these childhood traumas and severity of the symptoms on the psychiatric table and to investigate the effect of trauma on the quality of life.
