Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between childhood traumas, attachment in romantic relationships, and relationship satisfaction. The population of the study consists of individuals aged 18-54 who are in romantic relationships. The sample was selected using the simple random sampling method and comprises 311 (79.9%) female and 78 (20.1%) male participants. To measure childhood traumas, the " Adversity Childhood Experiences " was used; to assess attachment dimensions, the " Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory-II " was employed; and to evaluate relationship satisfaction, the "Relationship Satisfaction Scale" was utilized. The data obtained for the study were analyzed using the "SPSS 24". According to the findings of the study, a negative correlation was found between the "anxiety" subdimension of attachment and the relationship satisfaction scale scores. Similarly, a negative correlation was observed between the "anxiety" subdimension scores of attachment and the Adversity Childhood Experiences (ACE) scores. As anxiety increases, childhood trauma scores decrease. Additonally a negative correlation was also found between the "avoidance" dimension of attachment and the relationship satisfaction scale. As avoidance increases, the relationship satisfaction scale scores decrease. Furthermore, the results of the study revealed a very weak negative correlation between the "avoidance" dimension of attachment and the ACE scores. As avoidance scores increase, childhood trauma scores decrease. A positive correlation was found between the relationship satisfaction scale and ACE scores. As relationship satisfaction increases, childhood trauma scores also increase. Keywords: Childhood traumas, Attachment, Relationship Satisfaction
