Abstract (EN)
The research was carried out as a relationship-seeker, cross-sectional study in descriptive design to examine the relationship between burnout levels and work commitment levels in nurses caring for COVID-19 patients. The universe of the research was formed by 510 nurses working at Istanbul Education and Research Hospital. The sample was made up of 220 nurses who agreed to participate in the study, determined according to the criteria for inclusion in the study. "Demographic Characteristics Form", "Maslach Burnout Scale (MTÖ)" and Utrecht Business Loyalty Scale (ICU) were used to collect the data. Data analyses of the research were carried out using frequency tables, identifier and relationship-looking statistics in the interpretation of the findings with the package program SPSS 24 in a computer environment. According to the findings of the study, it was concluded that demographic variables are an important determinant of burnout and work commitment levels. In the study, it was determined that the burnout level was moderate in the nurses' findings regarding occupational burnout sub- dimensions, and the level of commitment to work was high in the findings regarding the lower dimensions of commitment to work. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a negatively significant relationship between occupational burnout and work commitment levels. In this context, it was determined that the level of occupational burnout decreased in parallel with the increase in the level of commitment to work in nurses, and the increase in the lower dimensions of commitment to work was negatively related to the lower dimensions of occupational burnout.
