Abstract (EN)
In the foundation period of the Republic, regulations were made in almost every field in order to reach "contemporary civilizations". These regulations brought along important innovations for Turkish women. The social reflections of the legal regulations made in this direction were frequently discussed in the press area of the period. In Konya, the place of women in social and political life has shown itself in Konya's local newspapers. Within the scope of the study, the parliamentary records of the period and both national and local newspapers were examined and the modernization process of Turkish women was tried to be analyzed.
