Abstract (EN)

In an age where many concepts can be digitalized today, games and some concepts embedded in games have become digitalized. The concept of the sacred is one of them in digital games. In this context, a scale development was carried out to determine whether players developed any attitudes to the sacred symbolism of digital games. With this scale developed, it was aimed to measure player attitudes towards sacred elements in digital games. In addition, it was examined whether there was a meaningful relationship between these attitudes and demographic variables (gender, age, marital status, level of education, place of residence, professional status, and level of importance given to religion). The quantitative method was used in the research. In the sample of the research, criterion and snowball sampling methods were used to ensure the representation of the universe of the research. The sample consisted of 361 participants. As data collection tools, the Player Attitudes Scale for Sacred Elements in Digital Games developed by the researcher and Personal Information Form were used. The scale has passed through some stages and taken its final situation. These are the determination of fit-for-purpose substances, obtaining expert opinions, trial practice, and validity and reliability analyses. There is no reverse coding of the scale items. As a result of the studies, the Player Attitudes Scale for Sacred Elements in Digital Games, which has validity and reliability, is 2 sub-dimensions (positive attitude and negative attitude toward sacred elements in digital games) and consists of 15 items has been obtained. The findings suggest that the players have developed attitudes towards sacred symbolism in digital games, and these attitudes have been differed according to demographic variables.
