Abstract (EN)

Objective: We aim to comparision of Effect of Postoperative Analgesia between the administration of intravenous lornoxicam and the administration of intravenous tenoxicam after the arthroscopic knee surgeryMethods: After the approval by the ethic committee and a written informed consent were taken from the patients, 50 patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery included in the study. Patients were randomised into two groups and were administered standart general anesthesia induction. Patients in group I received intravenous 8 mg lornoxicam 10 minutes before tourniquet deflation. Patients in group II, received intravenous 20 mg tenoxicam 10 minutes before tourniquet deflation. VAS scores were recorded by resting and by moving 30th, 60th,120th,240 th minutes at the postoperative pain situation. Additional analgesic was administered to patients whom VAS was ?5. Times of administration of additional analgesic was recorded. Postoperative nousing and vomiting were evaluated. Results: No difference was found regarding demographic data (p>0.05). There were no difference between two VAS score recording by resting and by moving30th, 60th, 120th, 240th minutes (p=0.945, p=0.693, p=0.596, p=0.044, p=0.492, p=0.461, p=0.084, p=0.024 ). No difference was found by evaluating postoperative nousing and vomiting. At the same time there was no difference of the need of additional analgesic between two groups as a statistically (p>0.05).Conclusions: We concluded that administration of intravenous lornoxicam and tenoxicam was provided effective postoperative analgesia after the arthroscopic knee surgery.Pain was decreased by resting and moving statistically in two groups. However, there was no expressive difference between the administrating of two drugs.Key words: Nonsteroid antiinflamatuary drug, Lornoxicam, Tenoxicam, Postoperative pain
