Abstract (EN)

In this study, the injury anxiety and physical activity levels of adults who exercise regularly, with and without injury experience were examined. The research focused on adults who exercise regularly in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul and was conducted using a cross-sectional research model. The research sample was determined using a simple random sampling method and reached 384 participants. During the data collection process, in addition to questions identifying personal characteristics of the participants, the Sports Injury Anxiety Scale (SIAS) and the Physical Activity Assessment Questionnaire (PAAQ) were used. The data obtained from the survey application were analyzed using the SPSS software package. The analysis revealed that sports injury anxiety did not significantly vary depending on whether participants had experienced injuries during sports or exercise. However, a significant difference was found between injury status and physical activity level, with those who had experienced injuries having higher levels of physical activity. The research also found a negative correlation between work-related activities and both pain anxiety and disappointment anxiety in individuals who had experienced injuries. Additionally, it was determined that, among those who had experienced injuries, those who did not receive treatment had higher levels of other activities during the week. Moreover, with and without injured individuals who exercised for more than 60 minutes per day had higher levels of injury anxiety. Finally, it was concluded that the physical activity level of women who had not experienced injuries was higher than that of men.
