Abstract (EN)

The concept of artificial intelligence, which has emerged in all areas of our lives by showing a rapid development in recent years, also affects the field of education intensely. Today, the relationship and interdependence between education and technology makes this situation inevitable. Artificial intelligence technologies; It has the potential to transform education in many ways, such as learning-teaching environments, learning time and motivation, and evaluation of learning outcomes. Nowadays, artificial intelligence applications in education are used in different ways in many fields from foreign language teaching to solving mathematical problems. Artificial intelligence also supports lifelong learning. In this context, the role of artificial intelligence is increasing in the development and implementation of effective education and training practices. The purpose of this research is to examine the studies on artificial intelligence applications in education through meta-analysis and to determine the effects of learners on their academic achievements and attitudes. Studies on the use of artificial intelligence in education covering the years 2000-2020, using the keywords "artificial intelligence in education", "artificial intelligence", "education", "artificial intelligence", "education", Google Scholar, Science Direct, ERIC, Yök Retrieved from Thesis Center, Proquest Digital Dissertations databases. In this context, twenty-five research academic achievements; Six studies were included in the study in terms of attitude variable. The studies included in the study were examined in terms of mean, standard deviation and sample size, and effect size results were obtained. As a result of the examination, it was seen that there was heterogeneity among the studies included in academic achievement, therefore, random effects model was used in the calculation of effect size. According to the random effects model, the effect size was calculated as 0.666. This result shows a moderate effect according to the classification of Cohen et al. Since there was heterogeneity (Q= 0.337, p= 0.000) among the studies on attitude included in the meta-analysis, the effect size was calculated according to the random effects model. The effect size (Hedge's g=1,240) showed a strong effect according to the classification of Cohen et al. Accordingly, it can be said that artificial intelligence applications in education affect academic achievement and attitudes positively.
