Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the rate of addiction to sports based on the duration and intensity of exercise for individuals applying a regular exercise program, to shed light on the psychodynamics of addiction in these individuals and to identify the underlying psychogenic factors. In addition, the correct and high quality of the exercises and addictions made by the level of the determination of the harm of the exercise is to create awareness. Individuals with exercise dependence should be identified and assisted. In this study, "Exercise Dependence Scale-21" was used. The study was carried out on individuals who were engaged in sports in different sports centers in Izmir. Research in İzmir; Narlıdere, Balçova, Konak, Buca, Karabağlar and Karsiyaka districts of sports centers, sports halls and swimming pool, women, men over 18 years of age were made with 162 subjects. According to the research findings, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the participants' exercise dependence levels and gender, physical appearance satisfaction, exercise year, weekly exercise duration, smoking and alcohol use. On the other hand, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the participants' exercise dependency levels and their ages, education levels, occupations, socio-economic levels, chronic conditions, exercise types, and reason for starting exercise. The subject of exercise addiction is a fairly new concept and many people are unaware of this type of addiction. As is well known, exercise in the right and time is very important in terms of health. However, it can harm individuals both mentally and physically when it is done too much in exercise as everything else is done overload. When evaluated in this respect, individuals should make the most appropriate exercise according to their capacities in the most appropriate time.
