Abstract (EN)

The research area Emet district is located within the borders of the Central West Anatolian Section of the Aegean Region. Form of administration of the district is district center. The average altitude of the district center is almost 896 m. In 2020, the population of the district center was counted as 11,362 people. The education level of the population is quite good. Significant migration movements were experienced in this area between 2015-2020 consisting, in particular, of a tendency towards metropolitan areas. The district center is an old residential area. For this reason, it has been described by different names throughout the historical ages. Housing types has followed a trend of modernization in recent years. Some of these are old-style dwellings with civil architectural features. The district center was decleared as a 'archeologically protected site' in 2014 with the decision of the Kütahya Province Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board. Agricultural activities and livestock farming are not common in the district center, while small cattle breeding is preferred. Barley and wheat production is common as agricultural products. Only road transportation is available. From the district bus station, minibus and bus shuttles are organized to Gediz, Tavşanlı and Kütahya at certain times. Tourism activities have generally gained ground as thermal tourism. There are facilities such as apartments, pensions and hotels that provide accommodation services for this sector. There are reserve fields of boron mine near the district center the operation of which is still carried out by Eti Maden. For the population living here, mining has been an important means of income for a long time.
