Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to examine psychological resilience of adolescents in terms of familial risk factors and protective factors. The study group of this research consists of 291 students at the 9th , 10th and 11th grade levels, who continue their formal education in Anatolian high schools in İpekyolu district of Van. The data of the research were collected using "Personal Information Form", "Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale", "Semi-Structured Interview Form". The total 14 students who scored low and high on the "Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale" were selected randomly. T-test analysis was conducted to examine if the scores of psychological resilience is changed in terms of the variants like gender, having three or more siblings and age difference less than two years with siblings.; Mann Whitney U analysis was implemented from non-parametric tests to examine whether the total scores of psychological resilience differ according to the variables like living with a single parent, having financial difficulties in the family, and having at least one of his parents with a physical illness / disability. In the interpretation of the analysis results, 0.05 significance level was taken as a criterion. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed through content analysis which is one of the qualitative data analysis methods, and the findings were presented in categories. According to the results of the research, the scores of psychological resilience did not differ significantly according to gender and risk conditions. When the qualitative findings of the research were examined, it was seen that the families of students with high and low endurance participating in the interview generally had similar characteristics in some areas besides having different characteristics. It is found out that while almost all of the students with high resilience receive attention and support from their parents, siblings and members of their extended families in the face of a negativity they experience; Most of the students with low resilience are not interested in such situations. Most students' parents with high resilience have professional expectations whereas the parents of most students with low resilience have both educational and professional expectations. Most of the students with high resilience think that expectations of their parents are positive and appropriate for their characteristics. On the other hand, most of the students with low endurance think that their expectations of their parents are not negative and that they do not match their characteristics. While most of the students with high resilience define their parents as democratic, most of the students with low resilience define their parents as authoritarian.
