ABSTRACT This study was carried out as a descriptive and relationship seeker to investigate the relationship between eating attitudes and childhood trauma in adolescents. 438 adolescents studying at eight Anatolian high schools in Niğde city center were included in the study. Ethics committee and institutional permissions, written and verbal consent from parents and adolescents were obtained before starting the study. Eating Attitudes Test and Childhood Trauma Scale were administered to the adolescents along with the sociodemographic information form. The data were evaluated in computer environment. Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis H test, Spearman correlation and chi-square test were used in the analysis of the data. The research data were evaluated considering the significance level of p< 0.05. It was found that Adolescents' Childhood Trauma Scale scores were 43.51±8.79 on average, Sexual abuse sub-dimension scores were 4.63±2.12 on average, Emotional abuse sub-dimension scores were 6.61±3.26 on average, Physical abuse sub-dimension scores were 4.56±1.38 on average, Emotional neglect sub-dimension scores were 11.14±4.45 on average, Physical neglect sub-dimension scores were 7.32±2.06 on average, Minimization scores were 0.05±021 on average. It was determined that gender, academic achievement, working status, number of siblings, family and teacher relationships are predictors of childhood traumas. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the Adolescents' Eating Attitudes Test scores and their emotional abuse sub-dimension scores (r:0.205; p<0.01) and minimization scores (r:0.121; p<0.05).
