Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to determine the playfulness and psychological resilience levels of children in early childhood and to examine the relationship between their playfulness and psychological resilience. The general survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study, and a correlational research model was adopted to determine the relationship between the playfulness and resilience. "Children's Playfulness Scale" and "The Early Childhood Resilience Scale" were used to collect the data for the study. The sample of the study consisted of 200 children who attended official pre-school education institutions in affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul of the 2022-2023 academic year. As a result of the research; it has been found that the variables of the child's age, birth order, mother's and father's age, family's monthly income, parent's marital status and child's family structure do not make statistically significant differences on children's playfulness and psychological endurance. On the other hand, it was concluded that the gender of the child affects physical spontaneity, the number of siblings affects cognitive spontaneity, and the educational institution the child attends affects the expression of pleasure, which is one of the sub-dimensions of Children's Playfulness Scale. It was found that the psychological resilience of the children was only related to the educational status of the mother. In addition to these, a moderately positive and statistically significant relationship emerged between children's playfulness and their psychological resilience.
