Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between marital adjustment, relationship self-efficacy and spiritual well-being. The method of the research is a quantitative research in the correlational research model. The sample of the study consists of 578 individuals (177 men and 401 women) who have been married for at least 1 year and live in Turkey. Personal Information Form, Near East Marriage Adjustment Scale, Relationship Self-Efficacy Scale, and Spiritual Well-Being Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. Data were analyzed by t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient for independent samples. Regression-Based mediation macro (Process Model 4) was used to reveal the direct and indirect roles of the variables in the mediation analysis. According to the findings of the t-test for independent samples, marital adjustment and relationship self-efficacy scores of married individuals differed significantly by gender, while their spiritual well-being scores did not. Accordingly, men's marital adjustment and relationship self-efficacy scores are higher than women's. Correlation analysis demonstrated a highly significant positive relationship between marital adjustment and relationship self-efficacy and a moderately significant positive relationship between marital adjustment and spiritual well-being. There was a moderately significant positive correlation between spiritual well-being and relationship self-efficacy. Based on the mediation analysis result, relationship self-efficacy predicted marital adjustment both in total and directly positively and significantly. In the presence of the spiritual well-being variable of relationship self-efficacy, the effect on marital adjustment was also found to be significant. For this reason, spiritual well-being partially mediated the relationship between relationship self-efficacy and marital adjustment. The results of the research were interpreted within the framework of the relevant literature. Keywords: Marital adjustment, relationship self-efficacy, spiritual well-being, spirituality
