Fikirler periodical review,index, translation article (1-10 numbers)

The developments in literature after the proclamation of the Republic and especially after the transition to Latin letters in 1928 seriously affected the works, language and subjects of that period. Literary magazines also attracted great interest in this period and undertook an important mission such as raising awareness of the public. The Fikirler Magazine (1927), which started to be published in İzmir after the proclamation of the Republic, has an important place like other magazines in terms of its valuable writer staff and the subjects it covers. Articles were written and translations were made on subjects such as language, culture and education in the journal. Publications were made in order to raise public awareness about other socio-cultural issues that shed light on the background of the period. In this study, 10 issues of Fikirler Magazine published in İzmir in 1927 were discussed. Since it was published before the alphabet reform on November 1, 1928, the journal was written in the original Ottoman Turkish. The main part of the study is the section in which 10 issues of the journal are translated into Latin letters. All existing copies were classified according to the topics in the manuscripts, examined and presented to the attention of the researchers. Keywords: Journal of Ideas, language, culture, education
